The Revolution Will Not Be Colonized - Unisex Hooded Sweatshirt

In 2020, writer and thought leader Layla F. Saad posted the following to her Instagram account, echoing the sentiment and writing of the late Gil Scott Heron (and we are inclined to agree):


The revolution will not be colonised. 
The revolution will not be appropriated by businesses, brands, and leaders who have silenced Black voices for all these years, only now to post a black square and proclaim #BlackLivesMatter.
The revolution will not be watered down and made palatable.
The revolution will not be whitewashed into a movement where white people with white privilege get to feel like benevolent white saviors once again.

The revolution will not be colonised.
The revolution will not be slotted into capitalism and used to sell white supremacy back to us.
The revolution will not accept lip service or symbols of solidarity, only real, massive change.

The revolution will not be colonised.
The revolution will not accept the bare minimum as something we should be grateful for.
The revolution will not allow lies and misdirection to distract us from our purpose.
The revolution will speak only the truth, seek only justice and accountability, accept only freedom and liberation for Black people.
At all levels. All over the world.
The revolution will not be colonised.
